Minister’s Musings

In observing our “world order” we can usually see a great deal of chaos. This is why I believe that it is important to bring our vision home to who and what we are in our individual communities of family, friends, church, etc. It is here that you have an opportunity to experience the richness and fullness of humankind. It is here that you may find that you can and do make a contribution to activities and order of the universe. At least in your universe.

I am sure that one day someone will reflect on his or her great-grandfather the Unity minister, as I do with my great-grandfather, who fought in the Civil War. But who remembers the lives of those who lived the everyday lives many hundreds of years ago? Yet even in those times Spirit was just as present with our ancestors as it is with us now, bringing meaning and purpose to their lives as it does to ours. We are each a contributor to the ongoing process that we know as Divine Order.

During a gathering several years ago, I heard the statement, “You are important to Spirit and humanity just as you are.” You don’t have to do something of global significance to make a difference; just living your life as well as you are able to will do that.

We are each in our own way a contributor to the ongoing process that we know as Divine Order. Every act of kindness we perform is put out into the universe and reverberates through the ages. Each effort that is made to change a negative family dynamic contributes to the lives of our great, great, great grandchildren. Yes, in spite of appearances, Divine Order is always at work and you through your personal Power of Order play your part in it.

With you in the Heart of Christ
Rev. David
